The freedom I experienced today was beautiful. I spent the morning doing nothing. Then I went to school for a few hours to get some work done. One of my friends and co-workers lives a little less than 1/2 a mile from me, and she doesn't drive when the roads are bad. Her husband dropped her off on his way to work when we thought we just had a two hour delay. Then they cancelled! So I drove her home after we finished working, to save her husband a trip back. Then I spent the afternoon here watching terrible, trashy television. I may have to watch the State of the Union Address this evening to balance out the crap I wasted two hours on!!
My trip to Spokane is officially cancelled, and I was really sad. But then I was watching the news, and found out that Pasco School District has already called a two-hour delay for tomorrow. I called my friend Laurie to tell her because her husband Sid works in Pasco. She called me back about five minutes later to tell me she called the Kennewick School District snow hotline, and we, too, have a two-hour delay!! YAY!! I'm feeling a little better about my cancelled trip.
We've already had two snow days this year, and I think they only budgeted two into the calendar. So hell will have to freeze over before they cancel tomorrow, but I'm okay with a delay.
But...the forecast is calling for another 1-3 inches tonight...I'm just sayin'...
(...and praying and doing another snow dance! If God only hears one of my prayers tonight, though, I hope it's the one hoping Leah's family gets better soon...two of her little ones are sick, and so is her husband. Here's hoping she and the baby stay healthy, and the others recover quickly!)
