The other day I blogged about the fact that my house has very little storage. J and I went on a wild goose chase looking for a dresser. We came up emptyhanded. I got a great tip to check out Craigslist, but unfortunately, nobody in my area is trying to get rid of dressers. I sucked it up and drove over to the Seattle IKEA (well, it's technically in Renton, but they call their location the "Seattle IKEA" - go figure). I found the dresser that I have been coveting for five years, and it was reasonably priced. It's HUGE! I bought two. We are putting one in our bedroom and one in the guest room. The hard part now is rearranging the furniture so that it not only fits, but looks good. I wouldn't say that I'm concerned about feng shui, but I do like my rooms to look right. If a bed is under a window, it should be centered under said window. Unfortunately, in my house, the windows are not centered on walls. That is making my organizational strategies blow up in my face!
I'll take pictures when I get done.
Oh, and I finished the rag quilt I started the other day! I had so much fun, I have two more in the works already! One will be a Christmas print, and I'll share pics of that when I'm done. The other is a gift for someone...most likely for Christmas...so I'll have to wait to show pics of that until I've given the gift. Based on the fabrics, it will be immediately obvious which member of my family is getting a blanket for Christmas!

We have the same problem at our house. Our living room is the worst for furniture placement with oddly positioned windows and doorways. I hope you manage to work it out.
