Seeing as it's our 5 year anniversary, I thought I would do a guest entry to surprise "K."
That's right boys and girls it's the infamous and ever anonymous husband "J." I have been reading the blog for a while now, and have to say it's very funny and I rather enjoy it as well as all the comments.
Anyway I suppose we should get down to it. Hmmm....what topic should we broach today? This being my first blog entry, bear with me, it might start off a little slow. "K" is much better at this than I am. I use the old writing skills on a daily basis, but I can't say as I am all that good at it when it doesn't involve science.
I suppose we could start off by explaining the anniversary presents we got each other. We never know what to get each other. This tends to be an annoyance, especially at Christmas, birthdays, and of course the anniversary. But this year we did actually find things each other wanted. I gave "K" the first three seasons of one of her favorite TV shows, Two and a Half Men. She started watching them almost immediately after opening the box they were in. "K" got me a similar present. I enjoy and have not missed an episode of the Sci-Fi channel's, Eureka, program; so she got me the first two seasons of the show and a shirt from a popular Seafood restaurant in Oregon called "Mo's." Not only do I like the shirt, but we ate there on our honeymoon five years ago. I like the shirt because it says, "eat at Mo's" on the front side and on the back side it says, "Bite Me" within an outline of a shark's jaw. That's just down my alley...I tend to be very dark, sarcastic, and cynical...but I am sure y'all already know that from "K's" previous posts.
Now that we have gotten that out of the way, I suppose we could go down the path of something a little more useful. Like the 5 things I've learned after being married for 5 years, or something like that...
...How about the 5 things I love about "K," that should be easy enough...I hope.
5.) She has a good sense of humor. Sometimes it takes a while for her to catch on to some of dirty jokes or humor in the world, but she always seems to find the humor in everything else pretty fast. Which I like very much. Tends to help keep the laughter in the relationship light, like I said before, I tend to be very dark, sarcastic, and cynical...
4.) She has a good head on her shoulders. Not only is she book smart, but she's street smart too. I love the fact she has some inkling of common sense. Seems to be a trait that's fleeting in today's world. Unfortunately, when it comes to electricity and water she still has trouble understanding the two don't mix; but I think at this point she does it on purpose just to annoy me.
3.) She attempts to cook. She is not really the domesticated woman, every man would like to have to come home to. Where dinner is waiting for you when you get home and all that. But I do enjoy the food she can actually cook. I like to tease her about being able to burn water, but in all actuality the food she cooks is pretty good. Now if she would just do it more often...
2.) She's very pretty. I usually always just call her cute, which really gets her goat...which is why I do it (it's a husband's right to annoy his wife in certain ways and I am sure all your husbands would agree with me...lord knows you do it with us, electricity and water, I mean c'mon!). I was attracted to her from the moment I met her and I have to say I still am. No matter how old she gets (she's 2 years younger than me, and she loves to point that out), she will always be beautiful to me.
1.) She's very outgoing. Sort of. She's not the type of person that is going to run the Boston Marathon outgoing, but she is usually always game to try something new or go camping (as long as there are toilets and some sort of running water) or fishing (as long as I bait the hook and take the fish off it) ride mountain bikes, or even try to beat me in video games (never going to happen).
All in all, these 5 things don't even come close to all the reasons why I love my wife, but they'll do for now. We have to get rolling, got to try to get to Anthony's (Seafood Restaurant) before they close tonight. We didn't bother to get reservations...hope we get in...the burnt cream (creme brulee) is her favorite desert and I know she is looking forward to it.

Happy Anniversary J and K! Hard to believe five years have gone by already, but I look at the little flowergirl from your wedding and know that it's true... It sounds like you guys have such a great time together!
Here's to another five years (or fifty, whatever), and hopefully you got into the restaurant, even without reservations...
PS J, you totally rock. Dan would never in million years be caught dead writing ANYTHING on my blog, especially anything having to do with expressing emotions and being sweet and honest. K's lucky to have you!
Leah took everything I was going to say... including the J, you totally rock!... minus the flower girl :)
AWWWWWWWWWWHHH now that was the sweetest darn thing ever!! Happy 5 J&K! We all have the same inital just different names...LOL!
