Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa

J and I went to see Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa today with Wall-E and his family. It was cute, but not nearly as good as the first one. The only way I recommend this movie is if you go with a little one...it was fun to see how excited Wall-E got. He was mesmerized by most of the movie. There were a few parts that he got a little bored, but for the most part, he paid pretty close attention.

That's the good part of the review. Here's the not so good part: there is a LOT of adult humor in this movie. I never really pay attention to the double entendres when J and I watch a movie, even if it's a kid movie. They're there and they're funny. But when you are sitting next to a 12 year old, you're kind of hyper aware of them. Of course they go right over Wall-E's head, but Kooky? I think she understands a lot of them...

Overall, my rating is one thumb up. Not great, but not terrible.

I figure it's one we'll rent. We're too cheap to go to movies all that often, and if we do go, it's got to REALLY pull us in with the previews, and I'm not PULLED by the previews for that one. Thanks for the review!

and I know what you mean about the adult humor. I guess they want the adults to not be suffering through, but I'm worried for the day my kids start to catch onto something and start asking questions. ack!

Hey! I was thinking about you this weekend while I was Christmas shopping. I came across Sing Star the country edition. I thought maybe we could rock that until guitar hero the country edition gets released.
