Congratulations, President Obama

It seems like the elections were just yesterday, doesn't it? After an extremely long campaign - seriously, I thought it was never going to end - America decided that it was time for change. And boy, are we going to get it!

The inauguration of any president is an important and exciting event. This year, though, I think is special. Today is the day President-Elect Obama becomes President Obama. I don't know about you, but I'm excited.

The job of President is not one that I envy. There is SO much responsibility. I'm not sure about you, but I wouldn't want to have to step in and clean up years and years and years of other peoples' messes, either. Plus, in this country, there is no shortage of people with opinions...and they're not afraid to share them.

We have a long road ahead of us, but I am eager to see what the future holds.

Congratulations, and good luck, President Obama.

I kept the kids home with me that morning so we could all watch the swearing in together. When I dropped them off at school, I was so happy to see on the late sign in sheet that I wasn't the only one!
