When we began our poetry unit a few weeks ago, I asked kids what they liked and disliked about poetry. I asked them to write down what I could do to make this unit more fun for them.
This is a line one of my darling freshman girls:
"I think you might have to be a certain level of deep to enjoy poetry, and deep I am not."
