Is it wrong that...5

Every time we get mail addressed to the both of us, whoever gets it first opens it? Even if it's from the other person's "people"? My MIL sends us packages for Valentine's Day, and other random holidays, and since I'm usually home first and the packages are waiting on the porch, I rip into them without waiting for J to come home.

My friend Leah sends us Christmas cards with pictures of the kids each year. J has only met Leah about four or five times. However, because he is the one who usually brings in the mail, he rips into that card long before I even know it's arrived. I know I should just bring in the mail, and sometimes I do, but usually my arms are full of all the work I've brought home.

Turnabout is fair play, but it kind of bugs me nonetheless.

Dan usually brings in the mail for us as well, but he just goes through it briefly to toss out the junk mail (and lately he hasn't even been going that far) and then throws it down in the house somewhere. We never get packages, unless I've ordered something online, so he's not ripping into anything I want to be a part of. And he doesn't care about Christmas cards and whatnot, so I get the full joy of opening all of those, too. woo hoo!

This year, I'll write on your Christmas card "KRISTINA GETS TO OPEN THIS CARD" would that work? Or would it make him that much more anxious to open it himself??? LOL!!!

I run to the mailbox just for that reason!
